Switching Off

The other day, I decided to switch off from Social Media. The amount of time I spend scrolling through social media is ridiculous sometimes and so I switched my phone to aeroplane mode and did not go on it. I even told myself not to go on my PlayStation 4 (which has become a habit recently) until the evening when I can relax. Therefore I wanted to spend as much time offline as I possibly could.

I even made a to-do list of all the things I wanted to get done during the day.
The first thing I needed though is coffee because coffee is life and yes, I am a coffee addict.
One of the things I've been meaning to get done was sort my clothes out. I have clothes all over the place in my wardrobe and chest of drawers but there was no clear organisation. Therefore, I went full Kon Mari mode and dumped every single piece of clothing I own onto the bed. Luckily, we have a spare bedroom in the house where I could dump them on in case this took forever. The result of the pile of clothes is the photo below.
Pretty crazy but I was motivated for and started putting clothes into categories. The first one was my work clothes that need to be hung up, so I dealt with them first. The next thing I sorted was my dresses as they also need to be hung up. I then split up my hoodies and sweatshirts into a pile before finally putting my trousers/jeans into a pile and it slowly became much easier to just split the clothing into categories. I just kept motivated throughout while doing this.
I will tell a small lie that I didn't remain tech free as the last thing I wanted to do was do it in silence. Therefore I decided to put on Hell's Kitchen as it's easy show to watch and have in the background plus I've watched pretty much all the seasons, so I know what happens. Either way it was nice to have something to have on in the background.
After sorting through my tops, I turned to the biggest pile I had which was my trousers. I decided to have a trying on session which was slightly depressing but there is no point in keeping trousers if they don't fit. Either way it allowed me to see which ones actually do fit and meant I can keep them
At last though my clothes were sorted and for once my wardrobe actually looked neat for once.
The next thing I wanted to do was tidy my bedroom which as you can see from the photos below was pretty messy and cluttered especially the drawers.
Below is the end result of my tidy bedroom which is always satisfying when you finish. I was so happy to also finally organise my drawers too.
After sorting my clothes and tidying my bedroom, I thought I deserved some dinner, so I had my favourite chicken and mushroom pasta which was very tasty. Pasta is definitely my favourite food of all time.
Something I've been meaning to do is get around to reading The Endless Autumn by Annabelle Knight. I thought I'd take this moment while I was switched off from my phone to do some reading. It always feels good to read with a nice cup of tea too.
In the evening, I decided to have a pamper session and the first thing I did was have a shower because honestly there's nothing better than a nice shower after cleaning your bedroom as it really does feel super cosy when you get into a nice clean bed.
The shampoo and conditioner I've been loving recently is the TreSemme Cleanse and Replenish which is suitable for greasy hair because I suffer from greasy hair, and I need a shampoo and conditioner for it. I saw this TreSemme set in Tesco, so I thought I'd give it a go and I've honestly been loving it. I would highly recommend it if you suffered from greasy hair.
The shower gel I use is Radox Feel Awake blended with sea minerals and fennel. Even though this is a 2-in-1 for men (which I don't understand why it's for men), but it honestly smells so nice and it's a big bottle too, so it really lasts a long time.
After my shower, I like to use this Nivea body lotion just to moisturise my skin and it feels so soft on the skin plus dries really quickly which is always a bonus.
Next, I like to cleanse my skin with this L'Oréal Paris Micellar Water as it feels so nice on the face and is a nice cleanser.
It's not a pamper session if you don't do a face mask so I used this L'Oréal Paris pure clay glow mask. It helps to glow your skin and feels so nice plus it's so easy to wash off after 10 minutes.
After doing a face mask, I like to use this Jade roller on my face. I'm not sure where this one is from, but you can get similar ones from most places. I'm not quite sure the purpose of it is but it does feel nice and cooling on the face.
Finally, I like to use my favourite moisturiser which is the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser as it feels so nice for my sensitive skin and always works for me.
To end my day off switching off, I decided to watch one of my favourite movies which is Cruella which was honestly the perfect end to the day.
So there we have it, that was my day switching off from social media and I have to say it was a really refreshing day. I found myself not needing to go on social media, although I was tempted to share on my stories what I was doing but then I also knew I'd be sharing it on this blog so that's what stopped me from going on social media.

Either way I'd highly recommend having a day switching off because it really does wonders to your mental health and get this very satisfying feeling at the end of it.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.
