Happy Halloween!

Image
Happy Halloween Everyone! So yesterday was the day where I finally carved my pumpkin and I thought it was a very fitting post for today as it is Halloween. Here are the pictures of my progress with the pumpkin. I also want to add that I did it all by myself as I was home alone. I bought my pumpkin from a shop called the Spar and yes I did take a moment to give my pumpkin a mini photo shoot so you can get an idea of what my pumpkin looks like. Now the next step was of course cutting open the top to make the lid and then scooping out the insides. Let's just say it took about an hour and a half. Don't ask why but it did. You eventually figure out as time goes on, how to get the insides out. It was a very messy job as you'll see in the pictures below. Halfway there. Almost there. FINISHED! So much pumpkin brains. It was a messy job but I had fun doing it. Now for the actual carving. I was deciding whether to do

A Gloomy Day

Image
As I write this, I'm looking out my window and it is a rather gloomy day. It's nealy six o'clock in the evening and it's gloomy. I mean look at these pictures above that I took from the windows. The words to describe these images would be gloomy, dull, dark. Honestly though, I don't mind at all about the weather outside because it means I have an excuse to be warm and relax inside with no cares or worries in the world. At this moment in time I'm watching an episode of The Apprentice and drinking a cup of coffee. Once the episode is done I plan to play a video game on my PS2 (yes I still have a PS2 at home because I just get nostalgia when I play games plus it's still just as fun as a PS3 which is back at my uni house). At the moment I'm debating to play a Harry Potter game on the PS2 because I'm in kind of a Harry Potter mood at the moment because on my train journey on Friday I was listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber

Third Year So Far..

Image
As you all know (I may or may not have mentioned it several times on this blog) I'm in my third and final year of university. I still can't quite believe to be honest how fast it's going. I mean it's nearly November. Then I'll have 8 months left. That's crazy. I have my reading week next week so I'm actually going home for a week which is very exciting. A little break from lectures. Although I will be doing work over the week so it's not a complete break from uni. If you are not aware I am studying Advertising and Media Studies Ba (Hons) Degree and this year I have three Advertising modules, one Media Studies module and one Media Studies Dissertations. All together I have eight assignments, one exam and one dissertation to do. It doesn't seem like a lot of work but there's a lot of work involved in each of the assignments and of course there's the 10,000 word dissertation on top of all my assignments. Fun times. I'm a tiny bi

Bookshelf Thoughts

Image
The other day I was looking up at my bookshelf because from where I sit in the bed, my eyes just wonder up to the right corner and there they are. My books. I have noticed I do this a lot when I'm sitting or laying in my bed. My eyes will just wonder up to the right corner of my room and I just look at my books. I get a sense of happiness when I look at my books because reading makes me happy and I'm slowly building my collection of books and it feels great. I actually scrolled through my Instagram the other day and noticed that I had a few photos of my bookshelf and I noticed that each time the shelf was different. It had grown because I had gotten more books over time and that just makes me happy. It's actually the only part of my uni room that I keep updating and improving over time. Of course I've changed other parts of my room but this is the one that's probably changed the most. It's crazy how these inanimate objects. These books can make me so happ

Beauty Advent Calendar

Image
You know what I've always wanted to do for Christmas ever since I started watching beauty videos on YouTube. A beauty advent calendar. I've always grown up with a chocolate advent calendar every year and I never saw any different until I watched beuaty videos now I did look into it before but they were always so expensive. I didn't really think about this year until I saw that Make Up Revolution were doing one. Now I love Make Up Revolution products. I love their products that they make so the thought of having one of their beauty advent calendars made me excited. Now originally it was about £50 on Superdrug but then they brought the price down to £30 which is quite reasonable considering you get 25 of their products. That's what drew me more to it because some calendars were only doing twelve days of Christmas and they were way too expensive. I was sure I would be getting my moneys worth if I paid for one which was about £50. That's why I was tempted to buy th

Thank You!

Something happened yesterday which I did not expect but it honestly made me feel so happy and it involved this blog. I was looking at my blogging stats and I saw that my most popular post was my Dissertation Tips post. Now I knew that already because last week it had about 100 page views (which by the way made me super happy to see that so many people viewed it). I thought that itself was an achievement. I've never gotten up to 100 page views on a post before but it made me so happy that people were taking the time to view that particular post and maybe some even took on board some of my advice. I mean it helped me a bit that my own university promoted the post so that boosted views. Anyway, back to yesterday I was looking at the stats of this blog and I found that the Dissertation Tips post had over 2000 page views. I was in complete shock. That is crazy. I never thought any of my posts would ever get to a 1000 page views let alone 2000. It just means a lot that people actu

Simple Make Up Routine

Image
Believe it or not you can have a very simple make up routine in only six steps. It's very simple and minimalistic. You can use it for work or school or just days when you're not feeling like putting on so much make up but you still want some make up. It's also so quick and easy to do. Here we go: Step 1 - Concealer. Use the concealer under the eyes and any spots and blemishes that you may have. You don't even need foundation and this is more of a natural make up look. Sometimes I find it's too obvious you have make up on when you have foundation but with concealer you're just putting it on the parts which really need it. My favourite concealer to use is Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade Fair 1. I absolutely love this concealer and would highly recommend it to anyone. Step 2 - Powder. I like to use powder to set my concealer but also it feels like a little base but not an overwhelming base like a foundation might be. Your face

Twenty One Years Old

Image
I'm officially an adult. I can't believe that I am now 21 years old today. It's crazy how life just goes by in a flash. I still remember when I turned 18 that I thought that's when I was an adult but really it's this moment right now. A twenty one year old. I know last year I was twenty but for some reason that's not really a special birthday. It's all about being 21 years old. I suppose it's because in some places that's the legal drinking age but in the UK the legal drinking age is 18 years old. I suppose in a way it makes sense that this is my step into adult hood because this is my final year of university so in the summer I will no longer be a student. I'll be a young adult who shouldn't be relying on her parents anymore. Being 21 means the start of my life. I need to start making the life I want to live without the reliance of anyone. I need to stand on my own two feet and just start living. I thought I would share with you 21
