University Bedroom Haul

Yesterday, I decided to get out of the house as I was home alone. I also really wanted to buy some decorations for my bedroom as I had a side table with nothing on it because I was originally having my TV on it but it didn't fit so my TV is now downstairs in the living room. Anyway I thought I may as well go shopping and find some things.

The first place I went to was Home Bargains as it does a lot of good deals on homeware and it did not disappoint.

I wanted some new fairy lights so I bought these as I thought they would be really cute and sometimes you can't go wrong with fairy lights as it makes your room look really cosy. It was also £3.99 so I thought it wasn't too bad.

The next thing I bought was a mason jar. I had this idea where I could put some fairy lights which I already owned inside the jar and I just thought it would look really nice at night. This jar was only 99p.

The final thing I bought in Home Bargains is this light up & symbol. They did have lots of letters and I was trying to find the letter M but they didn't have it so instead I went for this & sign. I thought it would look cute on my side table and make it more decorative. I think it was about £3.99 so I thought I was cheap.

The next place I went to was Asda. I only bought two things in here. The first is this sign which I just thought was really cute and actually motivational. I just thought it would be cute on the wall. I'll be hanging it with some clear command hooks as you're not meant to nail stuff into the walls and also command hooks are damage free. The sign says You are braver than you think, stronger than you look, more talented than you know and twice as brilliant as the brightest star. It was only £5.

Finally I bought a set of AA batteries and a set of AAA batteries for the lights I bought.

That's all I bought yesterday. I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some ideas for decorating your Uni rooms. I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.

My Reading Routine

As you know I am a massive book lover and I love just reading. I don't follow this routine every time I pick up a book and read as sometimes I read while I'm on a train or sometimes I read in the living room. However this is mostly how I like to read and what I like doing when I'm set out on reading a book.

Now the most important thing for me while reading is quietness. I hate being surrounded by noise or people talking around me as when I am I can't concentrate on what I'm reading then I end up losing the line I'm on and I keep reading the same line over and over again. That's why I tend to read upstairs in my bedroom. My bedroom is my sanctuary because it's my bedroom and it's only me who is in my bedroom. Plus it's nice and quiet when the door is closed. So yeah I like the quietness.

While I'm reading I tend to have a drink by my side so that if I get thirsty I have a drink nearby. Normally I make a cup of tea because I love tea and it just makes me all calm and happy. Although sometimes I forget about my tea as I am so absorbed into my book that it tends to get cold. That doesn't bother me though.

I also have a cold drink by my bedside and today it's apple juice as I love apple juice. It's just so refreshing.

Sometimes I tend to have a snack while I'm reading. Today I decided to have some grapes as they're a fruit plus they're really easy to pick at while I'm reading.

Also while I'm reading I'm even in my pyjamas or my comfiest clothes which is a hoodie and some tracksuit bottoms. It is Autumn after all and it's starting to get colder now.

Sometimes I'll even get my blanket and wrap myself around it.

The most important part about reading is of course the book. I'm currently reading My Life Next Door. I love contemporary romance novels as they just make me really happy.

Anyway, that's all I really do for my reading routine. I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll be back again soon with another.

See you then.

Second Year

It feels so crazy that tomorrow I will be travelling up to my university again to begin my second year. I am both so excited and so nervous. It feels like yesterday that this time last year I was about to start my first year of university.

It's crazy how fast a year has gone. They do say your years at university fly by and I have to say I feel like they have. Not for one second do I regret the decision of going to university because I'm glad I did it. It's a great experience and I feel so much more prepared for adult life. I know how to be independent without having to rely on my parents. I know how to manage money, cook, clean and even do laundry. I manage to learn it all in a year and now I get to do it all again starting tomorrow.

However the independence is not the best part. It's the different people you meet from all over the country and the experiences. Freshers Week alone is an experience which I'll never forget as it was the best week of my life last year and I'm really looking forward to it again this week.

There was some sad times though where at one point last November I wanted to just give it all up because I thought I was going to fail an assignment and I just didn't want to go and fail. Instead of confronting the problem, I ran away to home because I was terrified. Yes I was a bit of a chicken but I went back and talked to the lecturer. Then everything was fine and I felt reassured about this particular assignment. I've now learnt that you need to just talk to your lecturers. They are their to help you. They won't be angry at you, they'll help you because they actually want you to get a degree. I actually ended up getting a really good mark for that assignment so it's not all that bad.

Anyway, it's not all doom and gloom at university. I've done new things that I never thought I'd do and shared so many memories with so many wonderful people. I can't wait for the next two years of university.

Good luck to anyone heading off to university tomorrow. You are going to love it and make the most of it all because it really will fly by.

I'll be back again soon with another post. See you then.

A Mini Book Haul

Today I was in town with my mother and she had a dentist appointment so rather than waiting in the waiting room I thought I'd go around the charity shops and look at books. Let me just say I had a successful shopping trip and bought four books. Though if I could I would have bought more but my mum came in as I was buying two books and so we had to go home.

However, I was really happy with my purchases and I thought I'd share them with you. Some of these you'll be familiar with.

The first place I went to was an Oxfam Bookshop which I couldn't resist as there was loads of books to choose from. I did look at most of the fiction section but then I came across the classic literature. This is where I discovered there was many Jane Austen books. Now I wish I could buy all the Jane Austen books but I decided to refrain myself and buy a book which I am familiar and one I'm not so familiar with.

The first book I picked up is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I'm so familiar with the story of Pride and Prejudice but I've never actually read the book. I did once start to read this book when I was working in a charity shop and it was one of the books being sold but one day I came into work and it was gone. I just never got around to buying it until recently when I was watching the TV series with Colin Firth in it that I just really wanted to get the book. I actually went to Waterstones first but it was £5 and I thought it might be cheaper in a charity shop. I was right as it was only 99p so I was very happy about that.

This lead me to buy another book from this charity shop and I decided to buy Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I've heard of this but I'm not familiar with the story and I've never seen the film. I just thought it would be an interesting read and I felt like buying it as it was only 99p.

Then I went on to the next charity shop which was Barnardos. I went straight to the bookshelf and had a look at the books. The first thing I looked for was books buy Sophie Kinsella and luckily for me I found a book which was on my Amazon wish list. I picked up I've Got Your Number. As you guys know I'm a big fan of contemporary and romance novels. I just thought this would be a fun book to read. I'm also really curious about the story of a girl who loses her phone but then finds a phone and decides to keep it but it belongs to a business man who is not happy that she has access to all his messages. It just sounds like a fun story and I can't wait to read it.

Finally, I saw this book which kind of stood out as it was bright and I just read the title before picking it up and reading the back of it. This book is called Around The World In 80 Dates by Jennifer Cox. It just sounded like the kind of book I like so I just thought why not give it go.

Anyway, that's all the books I bought. I'm very happy with my purchases and I can't wait to get around to reading these books. This has obviously expanded my reading list but honestly I love reading and I'm sure I'll get around to reading all on my TBR list.

Check out my post where I tell you the books which I'm planning on reading in Autumn:
My Autumn Reading List

I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then guys.

The Outcome Of The Resit

I just thought I'd make a quick update for you as I made a post back in July about having to do a resit as I had failed one of my assignments.

Let's just say I got it done within a month of the actual deadline and submitted it. It was a terrifying process of just waiting because I don't know how well I did or if I've even passed it. In university they give you a second and third chance to redo your assignment. I was nervous because I really wanted to go to second year and not feel like a complete failure if I had to redo the first year again. I suppose it happens sometimes and you have to just get through.

Anyway, tonight I had my result back for my resit and it turns out I've passed it. Now I can move on to my second year of university. I'm so happy because I've been panicking and telling myself 'What ifs' if it came to the conclusion I failed it. Luckily though I've passed and I'm so happy.

Although I am quite nervous about moving on to second year as this is where it all gets serious. In first year it's all about passing the year to move on to second year. It doesn't go towards your degree. However, in second and third year the marks for your assignments all go towards your degree. I suppose it's quite scary but it has to be done. That is the whole point of university is getting your degree.

At least now I know what is to be expected and how to write essays. I also know that I need to put in a bit of work towards my assignments everyday. Even if it's a just an hours work. The more progress and effort you put into an assignment then the more chance it'll be great.

Anyway, that's all I have to say. Good luck to any of you starting university soon and I'll be back soon with another post.

My Autumn Reading List

As you guys know I'm a massive bookworm and I thought I'd share with you my Autumn (also known as Fall) Reading List.

The current book I'm reading is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I am loving this book and all the characters. It is just a relatable story about life and fangirling. I'm on the last 100 pages so I should be able to finish it by tomorrow.

The next book I am going to be reading is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott as I've seen the film and it's not a very long book. I just thought it would be a nice quick little book to read while I'm waiting for a book I've ordered which I want to read. I'm trying to get around to reading most of my unread books on my bookshelf.

Another book from my bookshelf which I have not read yet is The Railway Children by E. Nesbit. I just thought this will be another quick read and I can say I've read the book. I also really liked the film and so I thought I may as well read the book. In my opinion books are better than the films.

The next book I'll be reading is one which I've seen on Amazon. It just made me curious and it's the kind of story I like as I am a fan of contemporary and love stories as it just makes me happy. The book is My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. I'm really looking forward to reading this story this Autumn.

I also have a two books which were given to me by my nan which I'm going to be taken to university and hopefully getting around to reading them because I was kind of curious about them. These books are:

Ghostbird by Carol Lovekin. It's a fantasy, witchcraft book which is about secrets and a world about hauntings and magic. It just sounded really interesting.

Significance by Jo Mazelis which is about a girl who is trying out a new life and she goes to a small town in France where a young woman has been murdered. It's a bit of a detective, mysterious novel I think but it just sounded really good and I was curious how it all gets played out.

Now that is it for all the books which I currently own that is on my reading list. I know I have a lot more unread books on my bookshelf but I'll probably end up getting more books while I'm at university. I've currently got on the top of my wish list a romance novel called Anna and the French Kiss which I cannot wait to get around to reading it. I've heard such good things about it.

Anyway that's all I have to say. I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then guys.

The 200th Post

200 posts and two years and 4 months of blogging

I never thought I'd get this far but I have. I really have been enjoying making posts for you guys. I know I don't have a fanbase or a huge audience but honestly every time I see over 10 page views on a post then it just puts a smile to my face knowing 10 people have taken the time to come and view my blog.

It's nice blogging because it's like a journal but except it's not private. It's on the internet for anyone in the world to see. I mean I've seen the audience stats and some of you who read this come from different countries. It just makes my heart swell.

As I write this post today I have had 7854 page views and it still grows.

I hope in the next 100 posts that it grows and who knows what will happen or where I'll be in 100 post times.

However in 2017 I'm planning on blogging even more and I'm going to make 200 blog posts and maybe even more than that. So far I've only managed to get to 96 posts in 2015 and 2016 I should have over 100 posts (I'm going to try and get to 100 posts before 2016 ends) then the challenge for me will be 200 posts in 2017. They will be a whole variety of posts like hauls, lifestyle and beauty related, advice, tags and reviews of books, movies as well as other things. Hopefully you'll like the posts.

Feel free to follow me through my everyday life on:

I also have a bloglovin which you can follow me and my blog on here (

Feel free to let me know down in the comments if there is anything you want me to make a post about whether it's advice or beauty/lifestyle/university/book/movie related.

Well, that's all I have to say for today. I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then guys.

As most of you know there has been a book series which I have been reading these past few months. Back on the 2nd of May I finished reading Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella and started reading another of her books called The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic. I wasn't sure if this was a series where I'd buy all the books or even enjoy it. However though as soon as I finished this book, I wanted to know what happens next in the life of Becky Bloomwood.

I ended up buying the next book and the book after that. I did read books in between the series but I always went back to reading the series and loving every minute of it. I have to say these books are like a romantic comedy all within a book. It just amazes me and half the time I have no idea how it's going to end as it's full of plot twists and unexpected things happen. Half the time you're like 'How is Becky going to get out of this situation' Most of the time Becky is in some kind of situation whether it's to do with her love life, her friendship, her family and even with her bank manager and you're just wondering what is up her sleeve. How will she get out of the situations she puts herself in. However, you have to love a character like Becky Bloomwood. Even though she is a shopaholic, you can't help but enjoy the experiences she goes through and end up crying with laughter at the situations or even feel surprised when something unexpected happens.

It's a wonderful series which I recommend to anyone who enjoys reading about romantic comedies because this series is honestly worth the read. I have loved every moment of reading each of the books and I hope there are more books from this series in the future. I would love to know what happens to Becky next.

(You may notice Mini Shopaholic is not here and that's because it's in my university room and I'm at home at the moment. I'm planning on taking this series up to university so that's why it's there.)

Anyway, that's all I have to say. I am planning to finally getting around to reading Fangirl by Rainow Rowell next so I can know why lots of people love it.

I'll be back again soon with another post.
