Clutch Bag Essentials

Image
My summer ball is tomorrow and I'm going to be wearing a dress as well as a clutch bag. I thought I'd share with you some of the essentials to have in your clutch bag if you're going to a prom, event or a night out. As most of you should know most clutch bags aren't the biggest so you really do need just the essentials. This is my clutch bag. It's from Matalan, I bought it in the winter so I'm not sure if it's still there. It's just a black clutch with some sparkles and it also has a silver chain so you can put it on your shoulder. That's what I always look for when I'm getting a clutch. One to put over your shoulder so you have both your hands free or for when you're dancing the night away. On the inside there is just a tiny pocket but a bit of space. The first essential is my phone. I cannot go anywhere without my phone. Having a phone also means you can take pictures without having to bring a camera. You can bring a camera

Prom Preparation

Image
This post today is about preparing for prom or a ball or an evening due in which you have to wear a dress or something fancy. Now I'm doing this post as this Sunday my university is holding a black and white Summer Ball. I know around this time of year there's proms, leavers and other fancy things going on so I thought I'd share with you guys what I'm going to do to prepare for this Summer ball. 1. The outfit You need to make sure you have your whole outfit sorted for the night. From the dress to the shoes to the jewellery. Try it on. Make sure it fits. You want to make sure you have an outfit you can wear or you'll be panicking on the actual day. Also make sure you have the perfect shoes, jewellery and bag to match with your outfit. Then you'll feel so happy and make sure your comfortable in what you wear like your shoes for example. Practice walking around in your shoes and if they hurt after an hour or two then change them because you don't want you

Haul - Primark, Superdrug & HMV

Image
So today I decided to go to town and treat myself to a few things. I bought quite a few things and thought why not share them with you guys now. Here we go. The first place I went to is my favourite shop ever. Primark. I haven't been to Primark in ages so I did quite a bit of damage there. The first thing I bought is this New York Varsity nightie. I've been getting into wearing nighties and shorts at night because it's getting quite hot at night so I thought I'd treat myself to a new nightie. The next thing I bought from Primark is this pink workout top because I'm trying to get into exercise and I thought this top will be good for that. Plus it looks nice and it was cheap. Just like with the workout top, I bought these work out shorts because they were cheap and also as it's summer I thought they'd be good to wear around my uni hall as well as for working out. Next I bought some underwear because every girl needs to treat themselves to

Where have I been?

Image
You may or may not have noticed that I haven't posted for a week. That's because this week has been a busy one. I've actually been socialising with my friends. I've felt so loved and so happy this week. The funny thing was I never realised I was this much loved and cared about. It's crazy but also the best feeling in the world when you find out you're loved and cared about. If you're wondering what I've been doing. Well, I've been going out on nights out a few times this week. As I mentioned in my previous post last week about going out unexpectedly on the Friday. I ended up going out again with the same friends on Saturday too. I felt so happy because I actually felt included and honestly this week has been the best week of my life. I even went out with my friends on Tuesday and yesterday as well. It felt so nice because they were just such good nights because we all had a laugh and loads of photos were taken. It was just perfect. Another re

Hangover Tips

Last night was very spontaneous. I went out into town unexpectedly with my friends. Let me tell you how it happened. I was about to make a cup of tea when I could hear my friends in the hallway so I went out and saw them all dressed up and slightly drunk. They saw me and said 'Megan, come out! Our taxi won't be here for another fifteen minutes.' In that moment I said to them 'Maybe, I'll go out.' So I turned around and abandoned my cup of tea making. I realised I hadn't gone out in ages and I really wanted to. So I literally got ready in ten minutes. Took a mascara, a lip gloss and a compact hairbrush/mirror and left my room to go to my friends room. I had some time to put on my mascara, lip gloss and brush my hair. Then a few minutes later the taxi arrived. Before I knew it I was out drinking in the town. Yeah, that's why it was so spontaneous. Anyway, this post is not what I did on a night out, it's abput the morning after that everybody hat

University Experience

Image
I'm now in my third term of university. It's crazy how fast the year has gone. I swear Freshers was yesterday. My life has changed so much since I've come to university. I'm more independent than ever before. I can do my own cooking, cleaning and laundry. All by myself. Shocking I know as before uni I never really did any of those things. I'm also independent that I'm not relying on anyone. I can go shopping by myself and I can go to places by myself. I've been to loads of places by myself since I've been at uni. I've been to Liverpool, Chester and Manchester on my own and had loads of enjoyable day trips by myself. I've even been to the cinema twice by myself which I never thought I'd do. I've actually realised that nothing is stopping me from going to do the things I want to do. If I want to see a movie in the cinema. I can. If I want to visit a place. I can. Nothing can stop me. That's what I've realised at uni

11 Tips on getting through a university assignment or essay

Image
As I've been in university for over six months now and I've done quite a few assignments and essays. I thought I'd give you guys some tips for getting through assignments and essays. I hope these tips can help some of you guys who go to university or college or even school. Let's get started. 1. Don't freak out! Stay calm This might be a little obvious but you'd be surprise many people freak out, including myself, when they get an assignment. Especially when it's like a 2000 word essay or just an assignment where as soon as you read it you just think 'How on earth am I going to be able to do that?' The worse thing you can do is panic about it. Just stay calm and read over the assignment a few times. Your teachers will probably give you advice and things you can look at to guide you through it. You may find that it was easier than you thought it would be. 2. Find a nice spot to do your work This can really help get you motivated. My biggest t

Can you keep a secret? Book Review

Image
This post does not contain spoilers just my opinion so you don't have to worry. Anyway, last night I finished Can you keep a secret by Sophie Kinsella. Let me just tell you I'm so glad I bought this book. I was looking at Finding Audrey (which I'm reading next) then I came across other books in which the author had written and I saw this one. When I read the summary I just wanted to know what happened next so I just bought the book from Amazon and now here I am. Finished the book after a few days and I loved every minute of it. It's a book that adult women would like. I just couldn't put it down. It was full of romance and had loads of funny bits which made me chuckle. As I read it I kind of felt the way the main character Emma was feeling as it was in first person. This book was written so well and I would recommend it to any of you looking for a good book to read. I definitely want to read more of Sophie Kinsella's books. I know she's written a confe

Cutting the negative out of your life

Image
I don't know about you but I want my life to be a positive one. However, like I said in a previous post about how sometimes it's hard to be positive. Well, that is true as it's hard to be positive when you have negative thoughts. However, sometimes it's not just negative thoughts and it can be surrounded by negative people. Sadly, there are a lot of these people around. People that bring you down or make you feel unwanted. That's not good for you because with people like that then you're bound to feel more insecure and get more negative thoughts in your mind. Everyone deserves to be happy and live positively but you can't do that if you're surrounded by negative people and thoughts. The obvious answer for this is change. You need to do something about this. Now, I'm not saying change for the people because that is not worth it and you're not being true to yourself then. You're basically letting them get to you and letting them wi

My Saturday + Eddie The Eagle

Image
Hello everyone! So today was an interesting day that I'd thought I'd talk about. As you may have guessed from the title, I went to the cinema today to watch Eddie the Eagle with my mother. Let me just tell you that this film was amazing. I was truly inspired by it. It's a story about following your dreams and not giving up no matter what anyone else thinks. It truly is a brilliant film starring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman. Fun fact Taron Egerton actually went to my secondary school. Not while I was there but he actually went there. That's crazy. It had some funny moments and just moments where you're on the edge of your seat but by the end of the film I was in tears. I was so glad I watched that film. The film just made me feel like following my dreams doing something that makes me happy. Best of all it's a true story. Not just something that's made up. So if you put your mind to it. Anything is possible. After watching the film me and my mum
