End of November 2015

Hey guys! So it's the end of November which can only mean one thing.  25 days until Christmas! I'm so excited and I've actually done all my Christmas shopping for my family already. They are all wrapped and ready to go. I can't wait to open my advent calender tomorrow. I love this time of year and the build up to Christmas. Wearing Christmas jumpers. Listening to Christmas carols. Hot chocolate. Party food. I love it so much. Anyway, as you may have just seen I'm planning on continuing to post every day on my blog by doing a December photo challenge. I thought it will be fun and I'm planning on also making a blog post twice a week. I'll try to anyway. I've actually got assessment deadlines coming up to. Oh well. At least I have Christmas to look forward too. Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of the December Photo Challenge.  Bye guys! I love you all. Mega

December Photo Challenge 2015

Image
Hey guys! As I like the idea of posting everyday I've decided I'm going to do a December Photo Challenge where I have to post a photo everyday until the end of December.  Here is the photo challenge I found. I did not create this myself but I thought it would be fun to do. If you're a blogger and have run out of ideas, do a December photo challenge. You don't have to do this particular one. You can search for others or create your own. Beside this photo challenge I will be posting other blog posts twice a week.  To get updates on when I make a post you can follow me on Blogloving by clicking the link here:  https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/megan-time-14514819 Or you can follow my Twitter where I always announce when a new post is up by clicking on this link: https://twitter.com/MeganIvyT Feel free to also follow my instagram: @MeganIvyT Anyway, that's it from me. I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of December. Plus

What I ate today + Christmas Decorations Haul

Image
Breakfast: For breakfast I decided to make a bacon bagel. It was really quick and easy to do. I just fried the bacon and put the bagel in the toaster. It was delicious. Bacon is a great thing to have in your fridge if you're a student. I also had a gingerbread latte as I was in the festive mood and it's so nice. Now, I didn't really eat anything for lunch because I had a late breakfast today. Also, I was out at my local supermarket buying the remaining of Christmas presents I had to get and I also bought some Christmas decorations for my uni room. I bought all of these from the 99p store and I thought they were a bargain. The Chritmas tree is small but I thought it was cute to sit on my windowsill and it meant I could have a Christmas tree in my room. It was plain at first but I bought some red tinsel which was really long in length so I little bits of it to put on the tree just so it didn't look boring. I then used the remaining tinsel to put

Would You Rather Beauty Tag!

Image
1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up? I'd rather nice hair and no make-up. 2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out? I'd rather shave my eyebrows. At least I can draw in fake ones until they grow back. 3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life? I'd rather be forced to shop at only MAC for the rest of my life. 4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner or 80's perm? I'd rather wear lipgloss/lipliner. 5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush? Ooh they're both bad but I'd rather have an obvious foundation line.  6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public? I'd rather wear biker shorts in public. 7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered? I'd rather have really

Pros and cons of moving away for university

Image
Hey guys! As it is November, I have a feeling a lot of you are looking to apply for university. I remember a year ago I was the same. I had an idea what I wanted to do which was advertising and someone told me about a course at the University Of Chester so I just kind of went by what they said and applied there. It was a combined course so I chose to do media studies because I thought it would make sense. Anyway, I'm kind of going off topic but the point is some of you may find a course that's at a university away from home. I also bet some of you thinking about what it might be like moving away from your parents and having to fend for yourself. Let me just tell you. It will be scary at first but most of you are probably already independent and spend most of your time in your bedrooms rather than hanging out with your parents. I was the same. I liked it when I was home alone. I just relied on my mum to do my washing and cook me food sometimes. So it won't be so dif

Student Grocery Haul!

Image
Hey guys! So I went shopping for groceries today and I thought I'd show you what I got just to give some of you ideas of what to get if your student. First off I went to Asda and I kind of do the opposite to what most people do. I go to the frozen section first and then work my way backwards. I do this because I'm trying to cook more rather than microwave things so I look for frozen stuff. Plus it saves me having to walk from one end of the shop to the other for when I need to pay. I always use the self checkout.  Here we go: First I bought some popcorn chicken because I like popcorn chicken and this was only a £1 so I thought that it was a good price. I also know that these won't take that long to cook. I always get these fries because you can put them in the microwave and they also taste really nice. They're really quick and easy to make. It's also good for a snack or with something. I also got a big bag of chicken nuggets

Happy Thanksgiving!

Image
Hey guys! So I do believe it's Thanksgiving today. I don't exactly celebrate it because it's not a big holiday thing in the UK but I still acknowledge it and think of all the things I am thankful for. Anyway, I thought I will share with you all the things I am thankful for Here we go: My family My family are the most important people in my life. Especially my mum, dad and brother. They mean so much to me and have always been supportive of what I do. I feel so lucky to have the family that I do because we have so many great memories and even though my dad and mum don't live together any more, they still care a lot about me and my brother. I'm very thankful to have my older brother because we've done everything together and we've had so many good times. Even though we're older now and live only half an hour away from each other. I can always go and visit him whenever I like. My friends I'm thankful to all the friends I have had in my

Primark Haul

Image
Hey guys! So I went to Chester again the other day and I couldn't resist going into Primark. I bought a few things there so let's get on with this post. The first thing I picked up was this pinkish lipstick that only cost 80p. I thought it was a bargain and I was in need of a new lipstick. I have yet to try it but hopefully it'll do the trick. The next thing I bought was this blusher brush which only costed £1.50. I was in need of a new blusher brush and when I saw this I thought I may as well buy it.  I also bought this little black cross body bag. I thought it would look good on nights out and it was quite cheap too. Next, I bought these black jeggings. I realised I haven't got any black trousers and I thought these will be perfect for nights out. I also like wearing jeggings. Finally, probably one of the best things I ever bought. This Hakuna Matata jumper. I bought this as yesterday the bar was having a Disney theme

The British Tag

Image
Hey guys! So I was looking up some tags I could do for my blog and I found the British Tag. I thought this is relevant to me as I am British and I have lived in the UK for my whole entire life. I also thought it would be fun. Anyway, let's get on with the questions. 1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars? 2/3 teas a day and I have two sugars in them. I also like them nice and strong. Not milky. 2. Favourite part of your roast?  Roast potatoes or the Yorkshire puddings. 3. Favourite dunking biscuit? Chocolate Bourbons. I love dipping them in my tea or coffee. 4. Favourite quintessentially British past time? Fish and chips (without the fish part) by the sea or afternoon tea. 5. Favourite word? Presto! 6. Cockney rhyme slang? I don't really know as I don't use cockney rhyme slang. 7. Favourite sweet? Midget gems or toffee bon bons. 8. What would your pub be called?  The Pub 9. No. 1 British person? Emma

Cosy Night In

Image
I just love having cosy nights in where I can lie on my bed in my PJs or comfy clothes and just relax. I'm having one of those nights tonight and I thought I would share with you what I'm doing. Earlier I made some pasta and then added some Tomato and Basil pasta sauce to it. I ate some of it for lunch then stored it in my fridge. Later on, I reheated it and had it for dinner. It was so tasty and it was quick to do. While eating that I'm watching one of my favourite movies. Mrs Doubtfire.  Also, I recently bought this limited edition Nescafe Gingerbread Latte. It tastes and smells so good. It's also cheaper than buying it from Starbucks. It's also slowly putting me in the festive mood. And of course I like to wear my slippers while laying bed because they are so comfy.

My Everyday Makeup for Uni

Image
Usually when I go into uni everyday, I like to put a bit of make up. I don't go overboard with it. I just keep it simple. The natural the better because there may be days where you just can't be bothered to put on make up and some people may not even notice a difference. Trust me. People will want to see the real you rather than you hiding your face behind a mask of make up. I'm going to show you what make up I like to put on everyday or when I can be bothered to put make up on for uni. Collection Concealer I tend to put this under the dark circles under my eyes and on any spots/blemishes I may have just to cover them up. I always end up buying this product mostly because it's cheap but it's also good in my opinion. Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder I don't use foundation any more and I'm kind of glad I don't. It just takes effort to make it look okay. I just use this powder after I used concealer. I feel like it helps my face feel good and I

First Assessment Complete

Hey guys! So today I had my first assessment which was a presentation. I had to do a presentation on my own in front of my lecturer and a camera. I was so nervous when I woke up. I couldn't eat anything, but I did eat Belvita breakfast biscuits and had a cup of tea. I spent the morning practising what I was going to say and going through each of my PowerPoint slides. Then it was time and I walked into the room. As expected there was the lecturer and a camera. I guess it wasn't so bad as it was only in front of my lecturer. He chatted to me before I started asking how I was and basically just let me set up my PowerPoint. Then when I was ready, he turned on the camera and I began my presentation. It went well. I said everything I needed to say. I had my note cards and I barely looked at them, although I did have a computer screen which I occasionally glanced at and I stumbled over some words. After it was over I felt relieved. It went by fast and I felt reall

Hiding From Assignments

Hey guys! So, I just wanted to talk about hiding from life. What I mean by this is basically getting away from things that stress you out like due dates for assignments, over thinking stuff that's going on. I know some things are important like assignments but it's not good to be stressed over them. Just give yourself little breaks and get away from it.  Don't hide in your bedroom or in your bed.  Go outside and go for a walk.  Do some laundry.  Put something else on your mind for a little bit to escape reality. And just take little steps to get it done. Just do a page of an essay a day. You'll get it done eventually. Just don't leave it until last minute. The biggest tip which I discovered only recently is talk to your lecturer. That is something I did not do for a while and I basically just kept over-thinking that I was going to fail one particular assignment. I wanted to drop out and I didn't want to become

Image

Pray for the World

Image
It's really sad when you hear terrible stuff happening on the news. I'm sending my hope and prayers to all the victims and the people that were affected by any of this. It's hard to imagine anybody could do something like this. It really is awful and nobody deserves anything like this. Especially innocent people. I just hope everything will be okay. However, on a lighter side it's great to see how much support the world can give to all these people. It just goes to show we can be united in a crisis. I do not own this image but just in case you didn't know what was going on.

My Winter Essentials

Image
1. Blankets/Dressing Gowns During the evenings it tends to get colder and as I've discovered in the North West of England it can get very cold in the evening. So being snuggled up in a blanket or my dressing gown really helps.  2. Slippers/Cosy socks Now walking around halls, you need to put something on your feet and wearing trainers or slip on shoes is not the same as wearing comfy slippers. Also when you're in your bedroom, wearing cosy socks keep your feet nice and warm and cosy. 3. Hot water bottle They are handy to put in your bed at night to keep it warm. There's nothing like getting into bed at night and having it being warm. 4. Hot chocolate It's a must during the winter. Drinking hot chocolate while watching a Christmas movie is the best. 5. Advent calender Having an advent calender gets me excited for Christmas and getting to eat chocolate every day is great. 6. Jumpers/Hoodies Wearing jumpers and hoodies are a must. They k

Chester Haul

Image
Hey guys! So today I went to Chester today to visit the cathedral. It's so beautiful there. After I went there I went around the shops again.  I first went to The Body Shop and bought the Frosted Cranberry shower gel. I bought this because I was almost running out of my strawberry shower gel from The Body Shop.  After going to the Body Shop, I went to Wilko's and I bought this plastic pot. I bought it for my Uni room to put my toothbrush and toothpaste in.  I also bought this stainless steal travel mug because I needed a travel mug with a lid that closes. Finally, I went to Primark because I couldn't resist. I bought these Harry Potter slippers because I was in need of some slippers and I thought these were cute. They're also really comfortable. I also bought this purse because I wanted a new purse and I liked this one as I thought it was nice. Well, that's all from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another post. B
